The Little Bench
Where silence feels like company
“Do you think benches get lonely?” asked Mira, swinging her legs back and forth.
AK laughed. “Benches? Lonely? They don’t even have feelings.”
“But maybe they do,” Mira said, patting the wooden seat beside her. “Every day they wait for someone to sit. Sometimes people come, sometimes they don’t. Isn’t that a little like us?”
AK tilted his head. “Hmm… So, you’re saying benches are patient friends?”
“Exactly!” Mira grinned. “They don’t complain if you leave… They don’t mind if you’re silent...”
AK leaned back, looking at the sky. “That’s kind of sweet. Maybe we should be more like benches… steady, welcoming, and not in a rush.”
Mira nodded. “Yes. I guess benches aren’t lonely at all. They’re just happy to be there, waiting for the next story to sit down.”
The two of them sat in silence for a while, listening to the birds. The bench didn’t say a word, but somehow, it felt like it was smiling.

😄.😎.
Nice cute story on friends friendship. 👍. Since chilhood I've preferred and chosed friendship over romance. Found it more beautiful endearing.
But till date haven’t come across one interested in forging friendship. Only filmy romance.
This was really beautiful <33
